摘要: Fibromyalgia (FM) is a common chronic pain syndrome with an unknown etiology. Recent years added new information to our understanding of FM pathophysiology. Researches on genetics, biogenic amines, neurotransmitters, hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal axis hormones, oxidative stress, and mechanisms modulation, central sensitization, autonomic functions in revealed various abnormalities indicating that multiple factors are involved the pathogenesis FM. Oxidative stress nitric oxide may play important role pathophysiology, however it still not clear whether documented cause or effect. This should encourage further researches evaluating potential pathophysiology efficacy antioxidant treatments (omega-3 -6 fatty acids, vitamins others) double blind placebo controlled trials. These future will enhance complex this disorder.
