摘要: Abstract We review recent neutron scattering results on modulated crystals. Two aspects are emphasized: (i) the competition between incommensurate and lock-in commensurate phases influence of external parameters, macroscopic fields defects; (ii) dynamical which characterize state, i.e. phase amplitude fluctuation spectrum. Examples chosen in field simple “one-dimensional” insulators (thiourea, NaNO 2 , ThBr 4 ), with displacive or order-disorder dynamics. Extensions to charge-density wave systems multi-component order-parameters discussed.
