摘要: PURPOSE. To determine whether the photopic negative response (PhNR) of electroretinogram (ERG) is reduced in patients with primary open angle glaucoma (POAG). METHODS. ERGs were recorded DTL electrodes from 62 normal subjects (16 to 82 years), 18 POAG (47 83 years) and 7 suspects (46 73 brief flashes (<6 ms), also a few long (200 ms) red, full-field ganzfeld delivered on rod-saturating blue background. At time ERG measurements, intraocular pressures most controlled medically. Visual field sensitivities measured Humphrey C24-2 threshold test optic nerve head cup-to-disc ratio (C/D) was determined by binocular indirect ophthalmoscopy. RESULTS. contained slow potential following a- b-waves, PhNR, that increased slightly latency age. The b-wave amplitudes implicit times similar age-matched controls. In contrast, their PhNRs small or virtually absent. PhNR even when visual sensitivity losses small, correlated significantly (P < 0.05) mean deviation (MD), corrected pattern SD (CPSD), C/D across population whose MD ranged 1 13 dB, CPSDs 0 11 dB C/Ds 0.6 0.9. small. CONCLUSIONS. are smaller than those subjects. mild become as increase. There role for early detection possibly monitoring progression glaucomatous damage.
