摘要: Mediastinitis is an uncommon complication after cardiac surgery; however, its associated morbidity and mortality demand early recognition emergency therapy. This review intended to emphasize certain features of the incidence, pathogenesis, bacteriology this in patients undergoing cardiopulmonary bypass through a median sternotomy. The diagnosis treatment mediastinitis surgical procedures, as well methods prevention, are also reviewed.
