Class Origin, Class Destination, and Education: A Cross-National Study of Ten Industrial Nations

摘要: This article examines three themes about the relationships among class origin, education, and destination in 10 industrial nations: (1) differential access to education for different origins, (2) allocation of positions by (3) role reproduction mobility. The patterns association between origin are similar across nations. However, strength these associations shows cross-national variations. Class mobility involve social processes, which differentially affected education. a similarity emerges again way mediates destination. conclusion presents some implications this analysis study comparative macrosociology.
