摘要: If “filterable viruses” were simply small bacteria, it should have been possible quickly to provide uninpeachable proof of this using the then known, newly developed methods in bacteriology and immunology. Following principles set down by Koch later augmented other scientists for producing bacteriological etiological evidence, pathogens — providing they stainable identifiable under microscopes with a resolving power 200 nm. Moreover, laboratories had numerous culture media staining techniques at their disposal, addition suitable laboratory devices enhanced infection models experimental animal trials. The employed Loffler Frosch while researching FMD model experiments filterable viruses. Despite all this, opinion prevailed long time that kind causal organism was merely very bacteria. On one hand, seems incredible assumed limits technical aids such as filters coincided dividing line amongst microbes. nothing undertaken experimentally investigate hypotheses.
