摘要: Over the past decade, Britain and Germany have both made fundamental changes to their financial regulatory regimes with creation of single powerful regulators. In cases, this meant either ending or severely limiting role central banks. This article argues that these new actors cannot be understood without reference preferences domestic political responding increased salience regulation as a policy issue. The result was distinct partisan differences about institutional design responsibilities centre-left parties seeking clearly accountable government parliament. Such an account change is in contrast previous accounts evolution are largely exogenous politics.
