摘要: Summary India's major improvements in food production have been made possible via a shift towards rice-wheat systems as consequence of enhanced utilization ground waters. Rice-wheat rotation covering 10.5 million ha contribute about 75 percent total production. But it is being observed now that yield increases rice and wheat has slowed down there rather decline factor productivity. One the reasons for this indiscriminate use alkali waters constituting 25-42 surveyed especially northwestern states Indo-Gangetic Plains (IGP). Because high water requirements system, sodication rates soil irrigated their steady state pH sodicity values are much more (about 1.8 times) than low requiring rotations like millet/maize-wheat.
