摘要: Hierarchical Ag–ZnO heterostructures have been synthesized via a template free single step hydrothermal method. Structural and morphological studies reveal the formation of comprised Ag nanoparticles (∼20 nm) organized on tapered ZnO nanorods under prevailing experimental conditions. A plausible reaction growth mechanism has discussed. Furthermore, hierarchical creation with as relatively low work function material offers an effective approach to tailor its field emission properties. The remarkable turn-on ∼ 1 V μm−1, corresponding current density ∼10 μA cm−2, ∼400 cm−2 drawn at applied 2.24 μm−1. In addition, exhibit good stability pre-set value ∼1 4 over duration 3 h. enhancement characteristics resulting from decorating is discussed basis band structure modifications. ease synthesis route properties offer promising electron source for high applications.
