摘要: Total mercury (Hg) concentrations were measured in teeth of ringed seals from Qeqertarsuaq, central West Greenland (1982 to 2006) and Ittoqqortoormiit, East (1986 2006). Stable isotopic ratios carbon ((13)C/(12)C) nitrogen ((15)N/(14)N) determined as well provide insights into diet variations between regions or through time. Mercury decreased the first years life animals suggesting that Hg had been transferred mother foetus newborn. The significantly lesser compared those Greenland. Carbon stable values differed also two regions. Increasing temporal trends dental 1994 2006 observed both These increases attributed global changes environmental levels since no delta(15)N found support hypothesis a shift over Furthermore, decreasing trend delta(13)C was Greenland, explained by likely change time towards more pelagic feeding habits; alternatively, so-known Seuss effect thought be responsible for this decrease. Finally, it concluded tooth seal good monitoring tissue assess trends.
