摘要: Abstract This chapter broadly reviews the development of field orientation and mobility (O&M) its application to children then looks more closely at several current areas research in O&M. Research studies on topics quiet cars, complex intersections built environment, electronic travel aids, long canes, with multiple disabilities, instructional techniques general are reviewed synthesized. Future directions such as cross-disciplinary cooperation, providing people developing countries access independent travel, technology trends discussed. The summary point is that O&M needs use build validate knowledge base, expand partnerships other fields, capacity field.
