摘要: Malaria is a mosquito-borne disease caused by parasites of the obligate intracellular Apicomplexa phylum most deadly which, Plasmodium falciparum, prevails in Africa. imposes huge health burden on world's vulnerable populations, claiming lives nearly one million children and pregnant women each year. Although there keen interest eradicating malaria, we do not yet have necessary tools to meet this challenge, including an effective malaria vaccine adequate vector control strategies. Here review what known about mechanisms at play immune resistance both human mosquito hosts step parasite's complex life cycle with view toward developing that will contribute prevention death and, ultimately, goal eradication. In so doing, hope inspire immunologists participate defeating devastating disease.
