摘要: The A, B, H blood group antigens can be detected in normal transitional epithelium of the urinary bladder by red cell adherence (RCA) test. We examined possibility that reactivity for these is lost or decreased carcinomas and such a change may reflect future evolution tumors. studied several biopsies from 60 patients who presented with noninvasive were followed at least 5 years until muscle invasion was histologically demonstrated. Eighty-one percent whose tumors RCA positive initial biopsy did not subsequently develop invasive 27% had no recurrences. All 34 negative experienced recurrences 62% them developed lesions. In 81% patients, recurrent retained same pattern on serial biopsies. These results suggest presence readily detectable B correlates favorable prognosis whereas their absence denotes an aggressive potential.
