摘要: In barley (Hordeum vulgare L. cv. Herta), slender (sln1) is a single-locus recessive mutation which causes plant to appear as if it had been grown in sturating concentrations of gibberellin (GA). We have investigated two the GA-mediated processes barley, shoot elongation and induction hydrolytic enzymes aleurone layers. Shoot severely retarded normal (wild-type) biosynthesis GA blocked by an inhibitor, ancymidol (α-cyclopropyl-α-(p-methoxyphenyl)-5-pyrimidinemethanol). However, mutant continues elongate presence ancymidol. isolated layers, synthesis secretion α-amylase (EC 3.2.1.1), protease 3.4) nuclease 3.1.30.2) are induced exogenously applied GA3. layers these produced even absence but their still susceptible inhibition abscisic acid. Bioassays half-seeds siblings show no detectable differences endogenous levels GA-like substances. suggest that allows competent tissues express fully, or over-express, appropriate GA-induced independent GA. also conclude elongation, hydrolytic-enzyme share common regulatory element.
