摘要: Positron emission tomography (PET) using radiotracers with high molecular specificity is an important scientific tool in studies of monoamine oxidase (MAO), enzyme the regulation neurotransmitters dopamine, norepinephrine, and serotonin as well dietary amine, tyramine. MAO occurs two different subtypes, A B, which have substrate inhibitor are gene products. The highly variable subtype distribution species makes human special value. B can be imaged brain certain peripheral organs PET carbon-11 (half-life 20.4 minutes) labeled mechanism-based irreversible inhibitors, clorgyline l-deprenyl, respectively. In this article we introduce describe development these their translation from preclinical to investigation variables affecting organs.
