摘要: A theory of the cross sections three‐body gas‐phase reactions which proceed without activation energy is presented. It based on hypothesis that decomposition a collision complex governed by phase space available to each product under conservation angular momentum and energy. Calculations model ion—molecule systems show section enhanced if reaction exothermic, final reduced mass large, long‐range attractive forces are large. The gives consistent explanation for between He+ H2, He H2+ in satisfactory agreement with experiment.
