Mortality Following Hip Fracture

摘要: Purpose: To determine mortality levels following hip fracture in Korea, and to identify the factors responsible. Materials Methods: Hip occurred 1,152 of 864,966 persons (13.3/10,000 per year) aged 50 years or more South Honam, Korea 2001. Of these patients, 172 died within 12 months injury. Mean age mortalities was 79 with range 51 96 years. 103 were females 69 males. Results: Mortality rates 6.9% 3 injury, 9.6% 6 months, 13.2% 9 14.9% months. The annual rate patients (14.9%) 2.6 times higher than sex adjusted general population (5.8%). found increase probability death were; an advanced age, poor daily activity level, nonoperative treatment, delayed visit hospital, unstable intertrochanteric fracture, a during summer. Multivariate analysis identified level treatment as most significant variables. Conclusion: have greatest effect on elderly.
