摘要: Abstract In the coming years, Ireland will continue to face an increasing demand for wood biomass as a renewable source of energy. This result in strained supply/demand scenarios, which call new planning and logistics systems capable optimizing efficient use resources. this study, linear programming tool was developed includes moisture content (MC) driving factor cost optimisation two supply chains that short whole trees from thinnings material feedstock. The designed implemented analyse impact truck configurations (5-axle 6-axle trucks) on chain costs spatial distribution materials. results indicate inclusion chips reduces energy comparison with only producing satisfy demand, 9.8% 10.2% reduction when transported 5-axle trucks respectively. Constraining MC delivered power plant increases both transport overall costs, due, firstly increase haulage distance secondly, number counties providing material. terms configuration, resulted 14.8% truckloads 12.3% across scenarios analysed.
