摘要: Opium poppy(Papaver somniferum L.), a member of family Papaveraceae is an important source several benzylisoquinoline derived alkaloids known to the human race since ancient civilizations for their therapeutic and narcotic values. In present study total number 47 accessions/genotypes poppywere procured from various resources screened economic yield, variability, heritability, correlation path coefficient. Among them G-18 was identified as highest seed yielding 10.45 g/plant, G-3 & G-6 (0.092%, 0.086%) high morphine containing accessions. Maximum Genotypic Coefficient Variance (GCV) recorded papaverine content. The estimate heritability in broad sense higher side content (99.96%) (99.85 %) while lower days 50% flowering (4.22%). genotypic phenotypic coefficient amongst codeine thebaine were found highly significant positively associated with followed by narcotine analysis revealed that direct contribution yield made capsule straw (0.8730) maturity (0.3758).
