摘要: Available data indicate that peritoneal dialysis (PD) offers some advantages for the increasing number of elderly patients with ESRD, such as hemodynamic stability, steady-state metabolic control, good control hypertension, independence from hospital visits, and avoidance repeated vascular access. Early referral promotes establishment access minimizes consequences uremia subsequent morbidity frequent hospitalization. Elderly have similar modality-related complications peritonitis, catheter-related complications, exit-site tunnel infection, hernias younger patients. Comorbid conditions, malnutrition, psychosocial status influence survival on PD. are compliant highly motivated to cooperate in treatment. They more tolerant changes losses a greater sense well-being, less illness stress, fewer mood disturbances. Despite comorbid significantly impair self-performance dialysis, PD can be performed successfully if they family support or network medical social support, is, home nurses, rehabilitation services, chronic care units, nursing homes.
