摘要: Abstract The nanosecond-laser-induced damage thresholds of gold, silver and gold-silver alloys various compositions in air water have been measured for single-shot irradiation conditions. experimental results are analyzed theoretically by solving the heat flow equation samples irradiated taking into account vapor nucleation at solid-water interface. Au-Ag systematically lower than those pure metals, both that is explained thermal conductivities alloys. agree well with calculated melting all samples. found to be considerably higher, a factor of ∼1.5, corresponding air. This cannot explained, framework used model, neither conductive transfer nor pressure effect. Possible reasons high such as scattering incident laser light vapor-liquid interface critical opalescence superheated suggested. Optical pump-probe measurements performed study reflectance dynamics surface water. Comparison transient signal provides evidence suggested mechanisms likely occur during metal ablation
