Intussusception in children: reliability of US in diagnosis--a prospective study.

摘要: To assess the diagnostic value of ultrasound (US) in clinically suspected acute intestinal intussusception children, authors prospectively compared US and enema studies 83 episodes. None cases negative at proved to be study (negative predictive = 100%). The sensitivity was 100%, specificity 88%. Most sonograms were initially obtained examined by residents. Several unsuspected abnormalities also found with US. conclude that a few months training appears sufficient for high-accuracy investigation intussusception, enabling selection those patients need an enema.
