Sleep Duration and Sleep Problems in a Representative Sample of German Children and Adolescents

摘要: Objective: The main purpose of the present study was to evaluate sleep duration for nighttime from early infancy late adolescence in a German sample illustrate developmental course and age-specific variability these variables among subjects. Methods: A total 17,641 subjects KiGGS were evaluated. questionnaires contained questions about physical health, living circumstances, health behavior risks, supply, mental health-related quality life sleep. assessed by using parent questionnaire children aged 0 10 years (n = 9944) self-reports adolescents 7697) 11 17 years. Results: Total decreased 14.28 hours (SD 2.33) at ages - 0.5 9.50 0.82) 10.5 11. Above age report decrease night 9.41 1.33) 11.5 7.42 1.73) 17.5 18 Unspecified problems reported 19.5%, 13.0% had difficulties falling asleep, sleeping through showed 8.8% children, whereas 3.0% both symptoms—difficulties asleep night.
