On some problems encountered in the theoretical calculation of collisional linewidths

摘要: Abstract This paper relates to the comments recently made by Varanasi and Sarangi about role of higher multipolar forces in linewidth calculations. While we agree with broad outline their analysis, some differences remain concerning treatment HCl N 2 O linewidths. The important idea must be retained that multipole highest order introduced potential expression should considered as an overall, empirical parameter.
