摘要: Identification of the volcanic material (pozzolan) stored in a Roman ship fourth to third century bce, wrecked ancient harbour Pisa (central Italy), was based on ratios selected trace elements. The compositions major products erupted by volcanoes province, including districts Latium (Vulsini, Vico, Monti Sabatini and Alban Hills) Campania (Roccamonfina, Phlegraean Fields, Ischia, Procida Vesuvius) are compared with pozzolan from ship. Superposition Zr/Y, Nb/Y Nb/Zr pyroclastic (computed published literature) allows correlation Onano eruption Vulsini Volcanic District. rocks outcrop extensively sector drained hydrographic network Fiora River, which has been well-developed commercial water trade route since Etruscan times, river port sea connected important town Vulci, and, 273 part larger system Cosa.
