摘要: Storage of water in aquifers using injection wells is an efficient way for utilizing excess desalinated arid regions. In this investigation we estimate the benefits optimally recharging seasonal surplus into a strategic coastal aquifer already benefitting from natural recharge flash-floods by dam. Since, usually buyers commit to purchase under take-or-pay contracts, any attempt paid beneficial. Coastal cities are observing increased urbanization leaving limited space infrastructure. order determine optimal location and maximize use available winter period, decision tool combining numerical groundwater flow simulation model (MODFLOW) with optimization developed. The results study show that increasing number existing 45 173 would allow storing 31.4 million cubic meter per year can be used during later summer months. net benefit reach US$55 million/year while cost drilling new US$5.11 million.
