摘要: Legume-Rhizobium symbiosis leads to the de novo development of root nodule, a highly specialized organ enabling plant reduce atmospheric nitrogen. Consequently, nitrogen fixation has attracted attention molecular biologists wishing improve efficiency existing legume-bacteria interactions, and transfer this capability nonleguminous plants. In order realize these goals detailed understanding regulation function genes which are involved in symbiotic process is necessary. This only possible provided an efficient system for legume transformation available. chapter, our work (Tabaeizadeh 1989) on genetic Lotus corniculatus (birds-foot trefoil), perennial cross-pollinating tetraploid legume, extensively grown pasture hay north-central northeastern United States eastern Canada presented. The feeding value birds-foot trefoil can equal that alfalfa (Seaney Henson 1970). We have developed reproducible extremely rapid using Agrobacterium rhizogenes.
