Scaling up in international health: what are the key issues?

摘要: The term ‘scaling up’ is now widely used in the international health literature, though it lacks an agreed definition. We review what meant by scaling up context of changes and development over last decade. argue that notion primarily to describe ambition or process expanding coverage interventions, has also referred increasing financial, human capital resources required expand coverage. discuss four pertinent issues interventions: costs coverage; constraints up; equity quality concerns; key service delivery when up. then recent progress interventions. This includes a considerable increase volume aid, accompanied numerous new initiatives financing mechanisms. There have been improvements outcomes some examples successful largescale programmes. Finally, we reflect on importance obtaining better understanding how deliver priority interventions at scale, current emphasis system strengthening challenges sustaining prevailing global economic environment.
