摘要: The emerging care delivery model for Neonatal Intensive Care Units (NICU) is family-focused, developmentally supportive care. purpose of this study was to explore and describe mothers' experience becoming a mother while their infants were receiving in the NICU. A qualitative research design used. Interviews with 15 mothers whose Level III NICU analyzed using Spradley's domain analysis approach. Mothers developed from outsider engaged parent along four continua: (1) focus: baby; (2) ownership: baby my (3) caregiving: passive active; (4) voice: silence advocacy. entered continua at different points moved rates toward "engaged parenting." final stage, partnering, required active participation nurses.
