Leptospiral infections of rodents in the North Island

摘要: Summary 162 rodents, largely from dairy farms in Taranaki and the Waikato, were examined for evidence of leptospiral infection. 33 (20%) revealed cultural and/or serological L. ballum was isolated kidneys Rattus norvegicus, R. rattus Mus musculus collected Northland, Hauraki Plains, southern Taranaki. copenhageni norvegicus rural rubbish tips near Tirau Morrinsville. No hardjo or pomona infections found among rodents. Factors contributing to distribution incidence cattle humans are discussed.
