d-orbital theory and high-pressure effects upon the EPR spectrum of ruby

摘要: At the present time there is no satisfactory theory of $d\ensuremath{-}d$ transition in ruby which relates its spectrum to crystalline parameters; consequently a theoretical problem predicting high-pressure EPR effects seems far from solution. In paper quantitative relationship between parameters and spectra established. The calculation results agree well with experimental findings.
