摘要: Policy analysts are often troubled by the lack of attention paid to their work and harsh critique which it sometimes encounters. This is especially true systems modellers those making use more sophisticated analytic techniques policy sciences. Several papers from present seminar on Systems Analysis in Urban Planning indicate doldrums, even disrepute that feel. In paper I shall explore this issue ask what extent concern legitimate, or whether not some ways misplaced. will argue, for example, criticism inevitable, given social role policy-oriented research. be concerned most directly with large-scale models, drawing my own experience long-range forecasting urban planning
