摘要: The objective of this perspective article is to examine columnar inter-laminar integration during the executive control behavior. hypothesis posits that perceptual and behavioral signals are integrated within prefrontal cortical microcircuits. Inter-laminar minicolumnar activity previously recorded from dorsolateral cortex (dlPFC) nonhuman primates, trained in a visual delay match-to-sample (DMS) task, was re-assessed an integrative perspective. Biomorphic multielectrode arrays (MEAs) played unique role vivo recording cell firing dlPFC layers 2/3 5/6. Several aspects stem these experiments: 1. Functional across control. effect minicolumns shown by: i) increased correlated on correct vs. error trials; ii) decreased when number non-matching images increased; iii) similar spatial preference cortical-striatal cells spatial-trials, less object-trials. 2. Causal relations cognitive by turbo-engines. between circuits facilitated stimulating infra-granular with patterns obtained supra-granular enhanced percent performance trials. 3. Integration hierarchical levels brain. intention (visual spatial, direction) movement preparation (timing, velocity) striatum motor command posture midbrain also discussed. These findings provide evidence for brain’s
