摘要: Spatial relations between land use and groundwater quality in the watershed adjacent to Assateague Island National Seashore, Maryland Virginia, USA were analyzed by of two spatial models. One model used a logit analysis other was based on geostatistics. The models developed compared basis existing concentrations nitrate as nitrogen samples from 529 domestic wells. applied produce probability maps that show areas where are likely exceed predetermined management threshold value. Maps generated logistic regression kriging showing would 3 mg/L (>0.50) favorably. Logistic less dependent distribution sampled wells, identified an additional high area within missed kriging. could be determine natural or anthropogenic factors best explain occurrence elevated (or constituents) shallow groundwater. This information can local land-use planners, ecologists, managers protect water supplies identify planning solutions monitoring programs vulnerable areas.
