A survey examining nurses' knowledge of pain control

摘要: Three hundred and eighteen (318) nursing staff members at an acute care teaching hospital in Montreal, Canada, were surveyed to identify their knowledge of pain assessment management. Two instruments combined adapted for use. The final instrument consisted primarily true/false responses took about 10 min complete. mean score was 63.9%. Overall results indicated that nurses lacked understanding opioid addiction, equivalent dosing, properties opioids, differences chronic pain. No statistically significant found the scores by level educational preparation or years experience. Presentation unit demonstrated is suitable as tool well effective strategy introduce research.
