摘要: A total of 425 wire localized biopsies for non-palpable breast lesions found by screening ( n =169) or clinical =256) mammography between 1986–1990 are reviewed with reference to the biopsy success rate different localization techniques, positive predictive value mammographic findings and staging treatment carcinomas in groups. Specimen radiographs were available review 371 cases confirmed removal lesion 90.6%, indeterminate 4.8% negative 4.6%. Some 95% failures occurred mammography-guided localizations using Kopans hookwire. In later years this was replaced Homer retractable needle/wire system, a 99% rate. The be accurate ultrasound (US)-guided procedures, which tolerated very well no complications, as compared 10.2% vasovagal reactions procedures. performed under general anaesthesia 93.7%, 80.2% local anaesthesia. more clearcut improvement (from 66.7% 1986–1987 1990) seen over growing experience development teamwork radiologists, surgeons pathologists. histological diagnosis malignant 27% cases. malignancy improved from 21% 32% 1986 1990, due mainly an increase group. 71% stage 0 (TisNOMO) I (TINOMO) indicating good prognosis. striking number breast-conserving operations took place 1989–1990, especially Wire is method guiding surgical occult lesions, close co-operation specialities great importance order achieve results these
