摘要: Abstract A melt mixing masterbatch process for preparing nylon 6 nanocomposites that provides good exfoliation and low viscosities has been investigated. It is known high molecular weight (HMW) grades of lead to higher levels organoclays than do (LMW) 6. However, LMW have lower viscosities, which are favorable certain commercial applications like injection molding. To resolve this, a two-step prepare based on explored here. In the first step, organoclay in HMW prepared by processing give exfoliation. second diluted with desired montmorillonite (MMT) content reduce viscosity. Wide angle X-ray scattering, transmission electron microscopy, stress–strain analysis were used evaluate effect clay morphology physical properties final nanocomposite. The viscosity was characterized Brabender Torque Rheometry. approach lie between those corresponding composites directly from clear trade-off observed modulus processability. Masterbatches MMT offer significant decrease small reduction compared Higher concentrations less trade-off.
