摘要: Abstract An examination of suspended sediment dispersal in the coastal ocean off Ganges-Brahmaputra river system using shipboard and satellite data reveal distinct patterns distribution motion which help explain dynamics world's largest system. During low-discharge period, concentration is mainly a function tidal energy sediments are primarily transported as suspension population. Satellite sea-bed indicate that transport largely restricted to an area landward about 20-isobath during period. A simplistic estimate residual its separation into non-tidal components contributes 47% total has directions mostly southwestward northeast monsoon. The transport, 53% however, does not show any particular direction for most stations, although some stations shoreward transport. Although few water-column measurements were made high-discharge from this previous studies suggest dominant southwest year.
