摘要: . Agonistic encounters were staged between males of the jumping spider Zygoballus rufipes to study relationship body size (as estimated by weight) and encounter duration, intensity outcome. Encounters terminated at one five different levels intensity. All started lowest level intensity, most bilaterally escalated higher levels. A small number unilaterally heavier male from directly highest level. The associations weight difference outcome, duration maximum assessed using likelihood ratio statistic. As decreased, more than expected won lighter male, longer before terminating. Within difference, bilaterally-escalated terminating chance, but fewer lower These results suggest that has a significant influence on agonistic when is small, bilateral escalation necessary for accurately determine differences.
