摘要: The commonest eruption styles of basaltic volcanoes involve Hawaiian lava fountaining or intermittent Strombolian explosions. We investigate the ways in which magma rise speed at depth, volatile content and viscosity control these takes place. develop a model degree coalescence between gas bubbles allows us to simulate transition two extreme activity. find that is most important factor causing transition, with also influencing occurs. Counter intuitive expectations, decrease does not cause from activity, but instead causes passive effusion vesicular lava. Rather, change style requires significant reduction speed.
