摘要: Abstract At a buffered switch in an ATM (asynchronous transfer mode) network it is important to know what combinations of different types traffic can be carried simultaneously without risking more than very small probability overflowing the buffer. We argue that for many stationary sources effective bandwidth given by formula involving just source mean rate, its index dispersion and size report computational experiments support practicality this formula.
