Sex Differences in Diabetes Mellitus Mortality Trends in Brazil, 1980-2012.

摘要: Aims To investigate the hypothesis that change from female predominance of diabetes mellitus to a standard equality or even male preponderance can already be observed in Brazilian mortality statistics. Methods Data on deaths for which was listed as underlying cause were obtained Mortality Information System years 1980 2012. We used log-linear joinpoint regression evaluate trends age-standardized (ASMR). Results From 2012, we found marked increment ASMR among men less sharp increase rate women, with latter period (2003–2012) showing slight decrease though it not statistically significant. Conclusions The results this study suggest Brazil has changed pattern higher women compared predominance.
