摘要: Objectives To investigate long-term trends in antibiotic resistance of common bacterial species isolated at a university hospital and its intensive care units (ICUs). Methods Levels pathogens were investigated the Karolinska Hospital during 12-year period 1988-99. Resistance rates analyzed for entire hospital, as well ICUs combined. Results At Hospital, we found increased ciprofloxacin among Escherichia coli isolates, from 0% 1991 to 11% 1999. In ICUs, corresponding increase was 4.8% same period. Co-trimoxazole levels 7.5% 14%, with lower ICUs. For ampicillin, cefuroxime, gentamicin, similar whole Among Pseudomonas aeruginosa imipenem higher ciprofloxacin, 2.5% 13% 1999 figures Conclusion The still generally low, but increasing some antibiotic-microbe combinations. results emphasize importance including all sectors surveillance studies, also value long periods.
