摘要: Abstract During pollination of certain orchids, tropical euglossine bees collect fragrant chemical substances from the flower with forelegs, transfer it to midlegs, and finally a cavity in hindleg tibia, as indicated by motion picture analysis. The activities Eulaema cingulata, E. meriana Euglossa liopoda when attracted different orchid species pure compounds on blotter pads were compared. sequence activity was qualitatively similar all cases, indicating that cues are principal trigger for behaviour, but species-specific differences timing noted, also apparently related floral species. Laboratory tests behaviour is an innate motor pattern dependent triggers initiation active collection always precedes activity.
