摘要: Institutional review board approval was obtained. Informed patient consent not required for this retrospective study, which involved of previously obtained image data. Patient confidentiality protected; the study compliant with Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act. An automated pulmonary nodule detection program that takes advantage three-dimensional volumetric data developed tested multi-detector row computed tomographic (CT) images from 20 patients (13 men, seven women; age range, 40-75 years) nodules. A total 164 nodules 3 mm in diameter larger were detected by two radiologists consensus used as a reference standard to evaluate computer-aided (CAD) program. The CAD algorithm structured process categorized into three types: isolated, juxtapleural, juxtavascular. Overall sensitivity 95.1% (156 nodules). according size 91.2% (52 57 nodules) less than 5 97.2% (104 107 larger. number false-positive detections per 6.9 false structures 4.0
