摘要: Introduction and Aims: Serratia marcescens (Sm) is an opportunistic pathogen in patients with cystic fibrosis (CF). CF acquire Sm infection mostly following manipulative airway procedures hospitals, through patient-to-patient contacts or from the environment. This retrospective review aimed to present a case of outbreak detections at paediatric centre. Methods: Respiratory sampling, antibiotic susceptibility testing prescribing guidance were assessed. All isolates additionally characterised by pulse field gel electrophoresis (PFGE) determine strain relatedness. Results: From April July 2012 was found 5 patient’s airways’ samples (mean age 9.8 yrs, range 2−19 Centre size 63 patients, no detected before). Three presented pulmonary exacerbation S. aureus, concomitantly. received eradication therapy TMP-SMX for 14 days based on susceptibility. Treatment repeated 2 (40%) patients. Strict patient segregation hygiene measures implemented. The did not differ phenotypic susceptibility, but PFGE showed that all strains biologically different, thus excluding cross-infection among acquisition hospital. Patients therefore probably acquired community-related setting. free 10 months after first detection. Conclusions: great concern due its increasing resistance antibiotics. Accurate identification important defining managing outbreaks. can be useful tool understanding molecular epidemiology.
