Fostering social norms for sustainability : a comparison of two community socioeconomic initiatives

摘要: In the socioeconomics literature, community socioeconomic initiatives (CSIs) are identified as important institutions for achieving sustainability. this CSIs argued to contribute sustainability by fostering a set of compatible social norms reciprocity, equity, deliberation and sufficiency. This dissertation investigates potential foster such comparing contrasting two different CSI types: supported agriculture (CSA) local exchange trading systems (LETS). To undertake comparison, each norm is further elaborated in indicators linked their capacity encourage volunteering, redistribution, dematerialization, prosumption purposeful interaction. Drawing on literature reviews international case studies participant-observation interviews Tasmanian CSIs, research finds that while both types norms, they do so ways degrees. The has implications strategies it implies diversity required full suite norms.
