摘要: A simplified and economical procedure is developed to analyze the dynamic behavior of short‐length gravity dams. The analysis based on Rayleigh‐Ritz method an idealized dam‐reservoir geometry. substructure concept used, in which dam modeled as a thick plate water reservoir treated continuum. model accounts for interaction, compressibility, flexibility floor sides. natural frequencies mode shapes are obtained through free vibration analysis, three‐dimensional effects these properties illustrated. forced carried out frequency domain, response all three components ground motion obtained. length‐to‐height ratio its response, significance cross‐stream component investigated.
