摘要: SUMMARY 1. Inactive renin has been studied extensively in human plasma, but animal plasma its accurate quantification proved more difficult, due partly to higher activity of protease inhibitors. Such can be conveniently destroyed by a metalloprotease Bitis arietans venom, with concommitant release endogenous enzyme activities, such as kallikrein, that then activate inactive renin. It was therefore interest look for rat and rabbit using this approach, so providing, addition, comparison the disparate data other groups who have used trypsin or acid activation. 2. In both proportion 62% total renin, whereas contained proportion, 82%. A concentration venom required (33 ug venom/ml plasma) (4 μg/ml) than needed activation, at similar rate, (1 μg/ml). 3. When applied studies rats made hypertensive hyper-reninaemic aortic ligation 5 days, (active + inactive) observed. The percentage collected time, was, however, found diminish significantly. 4. conclusion, puff adder activates study physiological changes plasma.
