摘要: Emission spectra and decay from 4 MeV/amu N‐ion impinged dense helium gas (400 Torr, 5.2 K) were measured in a wavelength range 3500 to 8000 A. Most emission peaks can be assigned He excimers except for new triplet bands at 4599, 4587, 4575 An excimer–dimer is proposed interpret the triplet. All have fast initial‐rise component which completed within pulse duration (2 ns). classified into two groups regarding their decays. Group I has with lifetime of few tens nanoseconds very slow corresponding afterglow. The was explained as being caused by reproducing excimer excimer–excimer reactions, analogous known reactions between metastable a3(2sσ 3Σ+u). On other hand, group II much faster gives no In this case, regenerating negligible.
